Science of Pado
Productivity principles behind Pado
Pado is a productivity tool designed around common executive-function, time-awareness, and motivation challenges that many people experience, including people with ADHD.
Disclaimer: Pado is a productivity tool inspired by cognitive behavioral principles. It is NOT a medical device, diagnostic tool, or substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you have ADHD or suspect you may, please consult a qualified healthcare professional.
Externalization
Many people find it easier to act when plans are visible. Pado externalizes life domains (Anchors), projects (Currents), and tasks (Waves), using structure inspired by practical time-management and planning strategies.
Micro-Steps & If-Then
Starting can be easier when the next action is concrete. Splash Mode helps you define a small first action and pair it with when and where you plan to do it, using "If-Then" planning principles.
Timeboxing
It can be hard to feel how long things actually take. The 25-minute Flow Mode acts as a "focus container," externalizing the passage of time visually to reduce overwhelm and provide a clear end-point.
Instant Reward Loops
Immediate feedback can make progress feel more concrete and motivating. Pado uses gentle feedback such as haptics, XP, sound, and visual celebration when you finish a task.
Energy Pacing
Energy and attention can vary throughout the day. Instead of forcing a rigid schedule, Pado lets you tag tasks by energy (High/Med/Low) so you can choose work that fits your current capacity.
Inspired by behavioral design, implementation-intention research, and CBT-informed productivity practices.
